Advance voting for Oakville’s municipal election wrapped up on Sunday, with a total of 14,787 ballots being cast over the ten days of early voting.
The Town of Oakville reports that the number of eligible voters has continued to increase since the last municipal election.
According to the town, advance voting proved to be a popular choice, with 8.35 percent of Oakville’s electoral population opting to vote before election day.
This year, an additional day for advance voting was added, and in-person voting was again available throughout the Thanksgiving long weekend.
The town mentions that this arrangement offered convenience and flexibility for voters, including post-secondary students who were back home for the holiday.
Eligible voters who haven’t yet cast their ballot can do so at one of 40 locations open on Oct. 26, from 10 a. m. to 8 p. m.
