OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says crews are nonetheless working to clear the snow they usually hope to reopen the northbound lanes of the freeway round midday and the southbound lanes later within the afternoon.
He says there might be restricted entry to the freeway and never each entrance and exit might be reopened as snow plowing continues.
The freeway has been closed between Orillia, Ont., and Huntsville, Ont., as greater than a metre of snow amassed within the space.
