John handed away on Dec. 4, 2024, in Oakville, Ontario, two days after his 98th birthday. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, December 2, 1926. He lived an extended and full life.

John is predeceased by his loving spouse, Susan Harvey Dempster (née Lennox), his dad and mom, Jessie and Nelson Sn. and his brother, Nelson. He’s survived by his loving kids, Mary, Cynthia and Andrew, grandchildren, Dylan and Kiri, nice grandson, Xavi, and brother, Arthur. He additionally leaves behind many college students who have been touched by his work as a highschool trainer and buddies at St. John’s United Church.

John started his instructing profession on the Haile Selassie Secondary College, close to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was there that he met his wife-to-be, Susan.

He continued his instructing profession in Ontario, instructing highschool in Meaford and in Oakville. Most of his profession was spent at Thomas A. Blakelock Excessive College and Queen Elizabeth Park Excessive College in Oakville. His fundamental topic was French. He additionally taught German, English and Music.

John was a really variety man. He had a robust sense of obligation and ethics. It mattered to him to deal with others nicely and he cared about human rights, the setting, Canada and the world at giant.

John had a deep love of music. He was a stunning singer and pianist. He was a passionate collector of CDs, specializing in historic singers. Schubert lieder and hymns have been amongst his favorite vocal music. One among his very favorite songs was “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from the musical Carousel.
