TORONTO — Cyclists have launched a Constitution problem in opposition to the Ontario authorities over its choice to take away bike lanes on three Toronto roads.
Cycle Toronto and two cyclists allege the province’s upcoming removing of motorbike lanes on Bloor Road, Yonge Road and College Avenue places lives in danger.
They are saying the bike lane removals, which at the moment are enshrined in legislation, violate a piece of the Canadian Constitution of Rights and Freedoms.
They argue the province’s actions infringe on the rights of cyclists, pedestrians and different highway makes use of by depriving them of life and safety of the individual.
The group is looking for an injunction to stop the removing of these bike lanes.
The transportation minister and the lawyer basic didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
