Ontario Provincial Police say the teenager was arrested Wednesday, virtually two months after the infant was discovered lifeless.
The teenager from New Tecumseth, a city between Barrie and Toronto, has been charged with first-degree homicide and indignity to a physique.
Police say officers discovered the new child lifeless on the afternoon of Nov. 21 at a house in Alliston, the city’s largest group.
The case was initially being investigated as a suspicious loss of life earlier than it was dominated a murder.
Police say the accused teen was set to seem earlier than a court docket in Barrie on Thursday.
