Graham Walsh was chosen because the Metropolis’s new Metropolis Solicitor and Director of Authorized Companies

The Metropolis of Mississauga is happy to announce the appointment of Graham Walsh as the brand new Metropolis Solicitor and Director of Authorized Companies, September 16, 2024.

On this function, Walsh will report back to the Metropolis Supervisor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), overseeing all features of the Metropolis’s Authorized Companies crew. Walsh first joined the Metropolis of Mississauga in 2012 as authorized counsel and has since managed quite a few key authorized portfolios at each the Metropolis of Mississauga and the Area of Peel. Most lately he served because the Regional Solicitor and Director of Authorized Companies for the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.

Walsh holds a Bachelor of Arts from King’s College Faculty, Western College, a Grasp of Arts from the Royal Navy Faculty of Canada, and a Juris Physician (J.D.) from the College of Windsor the School of Regulation. He has obtained the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers. Moreover, he serves because the Vice-Chair of the Municipal Regulation Division’s Affiliation of Ontario and is an alumnus of the Governor Basic’s Canadian Management Convention.

Past his authorized profession, Walsh is a Lieutenant-Colonel within the Canadian Military Reserve and the previous Commanding Officer of the Toronto Scottish Regiment. In 2010, he was deployed to Afghanistan as a part of Canada’s mission to rebuild Kandahar Province.
