A person was on his method to work early Tuesday morning, travelling on the eastbound lanes of Freeway 401 in Mississauga, when he encountered an individual strolling on the busy freeway.


“You clearly see just a guy run from the left-hand side all the way to the right-hand side. And you think nothing of it until you see a gun pointed at you, and it’s fight or flight mode,” a person CP24 agreed to solely determine as Mike on Wednesday afternoon.


His sprint cam, which didn’t have audio, captured a person in a gray hoodie within the dwell lanes of site visitors, approaching autos and showing to level a gun at them.

Nobody was severely injured within the incident, which resulted within the prolonged closure of the Freeway 401 eastbound collector lanes at Dixie Highway and a few Freeway 410 and Freeway 401 ramps.


Mike stated listening to the gunshot made him notice the person armed with a gun “means business,” and he needed to get out of there.


“It made me upset as soon as I got back to work. I mean, the gentleman stopped, and I was like, I can’t believe this happened,” Mike stated.


“It seems like this is supposed to be the norm. I can’t believe that this is.”


POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN TORONTO


Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stated the suspect, who they recognized as 29-year-old Troy Ledrew, shot at a number of passing autos on the freeway close to Dixie Highway at round 5 a.m. on Tuesday.


OPP stated greater than 10 drivers had reported their autos being hit by gunshots.


Ledrew additionally allegedly stole a automobile from a motorist to flee the scene. It was later discovered deserted on Fasken Drive in Etobicoke.


Hours after issuing an arrest warrant on Wednesday, Ledrew was apprehended in Toronto.


 


He allegedly dedicated a number of tried carjackings and shootings within the metropolis’s east finish previous to his arrest.


“Much like yesterday, the suspect was seen pointing his firearm at multiple vehicles and shooting towards them,” Toronto police Responsibility Insp. Steve Campoli informed reporters on the scene.


Throughout one of many carjackings, a person was shot and critically injured, he stated. The sufferer is in hospital with life-threatening accidents.


“This investigation has been complex and constantly evolving,” OPP Det. Insp. Sean Chatland stated Wednesday night time after Ledrew was arrested.
