A woman has lost her life following a collision between two vehicles in Markham on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The accident took place around Highway 407 and Woodbine Avenue, as reported by York Regional Police on X, previously known as Twitter. Officers were dispatched to the scene around 2:15 p. m.
Details about the incident remain limited. There’s no information yet regarding the woman’s age or how exactly the crash happened. The major collision unit of York Regional Police is handling the investigation.
Officers shut down all four ramps from Highway 407 at Woodbine Avenue for several hours while they looked into the matter, but those ramps were reopened later that evening.
