TORONTO – The Ontario Provincial Police are looking into a deadly accident that took place on Highway 407 near Markham.
Authorities report they were alerted to a crash on Saturday afternoon involving a transport truck and a car.
An initial investigation showed that the passenger vehicle had stalled in an active lane on the highway and was subsequently struck by a fuel tanker truck.
A 37-year-old man from Toronto was declared dead at the scene.
Officials say there were no other reported injuries.
If anyone witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage, they are urged to reach out to the OPP.
