One person has died following a crash on Highway 402 in the area of the Blue Water Bridge Wednesday morning.
Const. Tyler Campbell with Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Lambton detachment said the collision happened in a westbound lane just after 8 a. m.
“I’m sad to report that one person has died,” Campbell said in a post on X shortly before 3 p. m.
The OPP said in a news release that a 60-year-old individual from London was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hours after the crash, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s traffic cameras in the area showed truck traffic backed up on the highway.
Multiple lanes of the Blue Water Bridge were closed for several hours for the investigation, but police say all lanes have since been reopened.
