An Ontario resident involved in one of Prince Edward Island’s biggest drug busts received a 10-year prison sentence on Thursday.
Jabari London, 22, entered a guilty plea for drug trafficking earlier this year after being arrested in March 2025 alongside Kimberly Elbourne and Angel Barnett, who are also from Ontario.
London has been in custody since his arrest and will receive credit for the time he has already served.
On March 10, police conducted a traffic stop on a black Hyundai rental car from Ontario and found London, Elbourne, and Barnett inside the vehicle.
The police then executed a search warrant at a Stratford home where the trio was staying. That’s when they discovered a kilogram of fentanyl, 2.8 kilograms of crystal meth, 763 grams of cocaine, and $5,800 in cash.
Charlottetown police noted at that time that it represented one of the largest amounts of drugs ever confiscated in the province, valued at around $665,000 on the street.
During Thursday’s sentencing hearing, it was stated that such quantities of drugs are exceptional for the Island and that these offenses carry serious consequences. The federal Crown attorney emphasized fentanyl’s danger by calling it the “gravest charge” from his perspective.
London’s sentence includes ten years for fentanyl possession, seven years for methamphetamine possession, and five years for cocaine possession-all to be served concurrently.
London chose not to speak during his sentencing.
Elbourne and Barnett are scheduled to appear in court again in August.
