Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after an 18-year-old man was fatally shot by police in London, Ont., who have been responding to what the Particular Investigations Unit describes as a “domestic violence investigation.”

A 17-year-old lady stays in hospital in crucial situation as a result of accidents sustained in a stabbing.

London police stated police have been known as to “a report of multiple people being stabbed by a male inside a residence” on Wellesley Crescent, close to Trafalgar Avenue and Clarke Street, simply earlier than 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The SIU stated police discovered a person “with a knife in his hand” in addition to a woman and one other man with stab wounds. One other man was additionally inside the house however was not injured, the SIU stated.

The SIU stated following an “interaction,” two officers shot on the man, who was taken to hospital and pronounced deceased.

The injured 17-year-old lady is in crucial situation in hospital whereas the injured man, 22, has since been launched from hospital, the SIU stated.

The SIU asks anybody with details about this case to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529 or present data on-line at siu.on.ca.

London police stated the suspect and victims “were known to each other” and although there will probably be a heavy police presence within the space on Wednesday, there aren’t any excellent suspects and no ongoing danger to public security.

Chief Thai Truong issued a press release late Wednesday morning highlighting the problem of intimate associate violence in the neighborhood and throughout Ontario.

“Last night’s events highlight the dedication and bravery shown daily by our members at the London Police Service (LPS) in safeguarding our citizens and our city,” he wrote.

“We remain incredibly proud of our frontline officers, who risk their lives to ensure our safety.”

Truong added that 95 municipalities within the province, “including the City of London, have recognized intimate partner violence as an epidemic.”

He stated ladies and women represent over 80 per cent of intimate associate violence victims amongst instances reported to police and that “we acknowledge that intimate partner violence is significantly underreported.”
