Victim, suspect identified in fatal Stratford shooting

The girl who was fatally shot at a Stratford house on Tuesday has been recognized as Kassidy Ballantyne-Holmes.

In keeping with Stratford Police, the 35-year-old was discovered unresponsive at an Ontario Road deal with round 5 a.m.

Officers have been initially known as there to analyze a disturbance.

Ballantyne-Holmes was transported to Stratford Common Hospital with a gunshot wound and later died from her accidents.

Police mentioned additionally they arrested a 41-year-old man on the Ontario Road house.

Keith Savile has been charged with second-degree homicide, possession of a weapon for a harmful function and unauthorized possession of a firearm, in addition to weapons trafficking and manufacturing.

He has a bail listening to scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17.

Neighbour response

One neighbour, who lives in a separate unit contained in the Ontario Road house, mentioned she heard the taking pictures.

“I was in the kitchen making a peanut butter and jam sandwich, when all of the sudden, I heard a ping,” she instructed .

Ballantyne-Holmes, she defined, was not in a relationship with Savile. Whereas she didn’t stay in floor ground unit, she usually stayed there.

“She came in, she had groceries, she was a happy girl,” the neighbour recalled.

She described Ballantyne-Holmes as an excellent one that was additionally battling some private points.

“She did suffer from a lot of troubles, but no one deserves that. I know she had a good soul.”

The neighbour mentioned Ballantyne-Holmes leaves behind three younger kids.

“Everyone is really put out here, especially her family. Her poor family, her children.”

The investigation

Stratford Police mentioned they proceed to actively examine the taking pictures.

They’ve shared no additional particulars about what led as much as the incident or the cost of second-degree homicide.
