A 28-year-old woman from Milton has died and a good portion of Freeway 401 was closed east of Waterloo Area following a collision on Sunday morning.
A consultant from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) mentioned the incident occurred at roughly 3:30 a.m. on Sunday. The 28-year-old has been confirmed deceased, and a 22-year-old man from Brampton was transported to a Toronto hospital with life-threatening accidents.
The OPP added that the investigation signifies that the collision was as a consequence of a car travelling on the incorrect aspect of the freeway.
Eastbound lanes had been closed between the Guelph Line exit and the Freeway 25 exit close to Milton following a collision close to the Freeway 6 South exit.
Simply after 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning the MTO confirmed the collision was cleared and all lanes had reopened.
