Police, coroner investigating two deaths at Brantford, Ont. encampment

An investigation is underway into the deaths of two individuals at an encampment in Brantford, Ont.


Brantford Police had been known as to the world of Eagle Place at round 5:18 p.m. Thursday following a report of two individuals discovered deceased within the neighborhood.


Presently, investigators don’t consider foul play was concerned.


Police stated they’re working with the Workplace of the Chief Coroner to assemble extra details about the deaths.


Police are advising the group to prioritize protected drug use and to achieve out to native substance use companies for help.


Anybody with any data abouts the deaths is being requested to contact police at 519-756-7050.


Mayor presents condolences


Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis prolonged his condolences to these impacted by the pair of deaths.


“My heart goes out to our fellow community members’ families and loved ones at this very difficult time,” stated Davis, in a media launch. “Sadly, although the City’s exceptionally dedicated Homelessness Response Team works tirelessly to help individuals in encampments find alternate shelter, we may not always be aware of every encampment in the city.”


Davis said that town has an encampment response staff made up of skilled outreach employees, supported by police and emergency companies. In keeping with town, as soon as an encampment is understood, the response staff works carefully with the individuals residing within the encampments to assist join with assets and protected shelters.


Davis is encouraging the general public to report any new encampments they discover to town immediately by calling 519-759-4150 or emailing [email protected].
