A bit of relief for a Kitchener homeowner, a month after their house was broken into.
Waterloo regional police announced they’ve made an arrest in a case from August 25. On that day, a man allegedly entered a home in Kitchener’s Stanley Park area and took cash and jewelry.
The residence was located near Lyndhurst Drive and Burbank Road, close to a conservation area. This past Thursday, authorities apprehended a man in Toronto linked to the incident.
“WRPS’ Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team (BEVT) began an investigation, and, with assistance from an eyewitness, subsequently identified the suspect,” reads a release from police.
“On October 2, 2025, BEVT members, with assistance from Central and North Division Direct Action Response Team officers, conducted a search warrant at a residence in Toronto and arrested the suspect.”
Regional police noted that this wasn’t the only case the man was wanted for. Police services across Ontario, as well as those in Quebec and New Brunswick had been searching for him.
The 43-year-old had seven separate arrest warrants out for similar crimes.
He has since been charged.
The investigation is ongoing.
