When you’ve been craving Ontario-grown candy corn, you’re in luck, because the crop has arrived sooner than typical.
Herrle’s Nation Farm Market in St. Agatha is promoting corn introduced in from Simcoe, Ont.
The shop was packed on Thursday morning with prospects desperate to get their palms on some ears of corn.
The shop’s supervisor stated that is the earliest corn crop he’s seen within the final 20 years or so.
“Conditions have been almost perfect. Winter left us really early and things grew really well – almost frost-free,” stated James Herrle. “Lots of heat and pretty good moisture conditions as well.”
Corn from Herrle’s subject ought to be harvested and accessible within the retailer by subsequent week.
