A person was airlifted to a trauma centre Tuesday after a capturing in Kitchener.
Waterloo regional police say the sufferer was present in a wooded space close to Mill Park and Inexperienced Valley Drive, not removed from the Homer Watson Boulevard and Pioneer Drive intersection, round 12:40 p.m.
Emergency responders carried out first assist on the 35-year-old man earlier than an Ornge helicopter transported him to hospital with severe accidents.
“The moment we hear that there is an injured person and a gunshot wound, it’s a very serious concern,” mentioned Const. Chris Iden.

Investigators are calling the capturing a focused incident. There is no such thing as a concern for public security.
“We are still looking for any information as to the suspect or who was involved in this matter,” Iden mentioned.

Residents, in the meantime, have been unsettled by the incident.
“It’s getting scarier and scarier, especially to live in this little neighbourhood. It was not like this five years ago, but it’s changing rapidly,” mentioned Kenneth Kingsley, who lives close by.
Police are asking witnesses to contact investigators.
“We don’t have anything to suggest that there is public safety concerns, but we just encourage members of the public… to pay attention to social media feeds in case we need to share anything,” Iden added.
No additional particulars have been shared concerning the sufferer.
