Canadian Military autos touring by way of Southern and Central Ontario

The Canadian Armed Forces is advising members of the general public about a rise in “military traffic” inside Southern and Central Ontario this weekend.

Starting on Fri. Aug. 16, a convoy of troops from the 4th Canadian Division of the military will journey to Garrison Petawawa for a serious coaching train, with pre-planned routes between Windsor, Sarnia, London, the Better Toronto Space, Oshawa, Peterborough, Barry’s Bay and Bancroft.

Officers say motorists can count on to see Canadian Military Reserve personnel and autos travelling alongside main roadways, together with Highways 401, 407, 115, 28, 62, 66, and others.

Uniformed troops shall be travelling with weapons, however officers warn that collaborating personnel is not going to carry any ammunition.

“This important training supports year-round preparations for international operations and maintains [our] readiness to support our partners and allies overseas with trained and professional soldiers,” a CAF assertion reads. “Canadian Army exercises also help maintain readiness to respond to emergencies in Canadian communities, including natural disasters like flooding and wildfires.”

The 4th Canadian Division is likely one of the 5 main formations that report back to Military headquarters in Ottawa. It consists of all common and Reserve Drive military items in Ontario, apart from a portion of Northwestern Ontario.

All through the journey, troops will conduct brief stops for relaxation, gasoline and scheduled upkeep, however officers say they’re taking all vital measures to make sure minimal inconvenience to the general public through the coaching train dates.

Motorists are being requested to take further warning when approaching navy autos.
