Man on the Loose After Kitchener Shooting

A man is currently at large following a shooting in Kitchener that left a 30-year-old with gunshot wounds.

Regional police are searching for a suspect linked to a shooting that took place on Jan. 28 near Scott Street and King Street East. This incident occurred around 9:00 p. m., and the victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that aren’t life-threatening.

On Feb. 10, officers carried out two search warrants in Kitchener, leading to the arrest of two individuals. During their investigation, they identified Siraj Abukar, 30, from Kitchener, who is now wanted on an outstanding warrant related to the gunfire.

He faces several charges including:

Assault with a weapon Aggravated assault Robbery with firearm

Authorities consider him armed and dangerous. They urge anyone who sees him not to approach but to call 911 right away.

Multiple Charges Filed Related to This Case

The other two individuals arrested are both men from Kitchener-one aged 25 and another aged 28.

Regional police previously reported that this shooting was targeted.

The younger man has been charged with:

Assault with a weapon Aggravated assault and robbery with a firearm.

The older man faces charges including:

Careless use of firearm Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose Point firearm Carrying a concealed weapon Unauthorized possession of firearm Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition Possession of firearm or weapon contrary to prohibition order (two counts) Discharge firearm with intent Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm Assault with a weapon Aggravated assault Robbery with a firearm
