OPP report that one person is unaccounted for, but they don’t think the individual is missing.

Emergency responders are looking into a house fire south of Odessa in Loyalist Township that has left one person unaccounted for.

The blaze started Thursday night just before 8:30 p. m. on Millhaven Road close to Caton Road. Officers from the Lennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police, Loyalist Township Firefighters, and paramedics were dispatched to the scene.

The house was completely consumed by flames, and firefighters stayed on site overnight. The Office of the Fire Marshal is currently investigating what caused the fire.

In an email to Kingston Daily. ca, OPP spokesperson Bill Dickson stated they “believe the person is unaccounted for but may not actually be missing.”

Millhaven Road was closed between Wing Road and Caton Road while emergency teams handle the situation and investigate. Officials say this closure is necessary for public safety and allows firefighters to work without any interference.

Authorities are encouraging anyone with information about the fire to reach out to the Lennox and Addington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122, referencing incident E260128833. Anonymous tips can also be sent to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or ontariocrimestoppers. ca.
