A Kingston driver is dealing with charges after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been required to deploy a number of tire deflation units and a rolling block to cease the stolen car they have been fleeing a household dispute in.
In keeping with a launch from the Frontenac OPP, simply after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, police turned conscious of a household dispute at a residence in Central Frontenac Township leading to a driver working a stolen car southbound on Street 38 in the direction of Kingston. The car had reportedly been taken earlier within the night from a residence within the metropolis of Kingston and reported to police.
“Frontenac officers, assisted by Lennox and Addington officers had attempted to find the vehicle in the area. A citizen updated police for a suspicious vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed along Graham Road, eventually pulling into a farm field,” police detailed.
“A number of officers converged on the placement and deployed three tire deflation units to restrict the car velocity and produce the car to a protected cease. The motive force continued to drive the Mazda SUV, with all 4 tires flattened, onto Street 38 into Harrowsmith.
In keeping with the discharge, officers used a rolling block approach to cease the car. Two police autos acquired minor injury in consequence. No accidents have been sustained by any concerned individual(s), OPP said.
