Schools remain open

All Tri-Board school bus services have been cancelled for today as Environment Canada continues to issue a yellow weather warning for significant snowfall across Kingston and nearby areas. Accumulations of 15 to 25 centimetres are expected, along with reduced visibility at times due to heavy snow and localized blowing snow.

Schools remain open.

The snow is predicted to keep falling throughout the morning and into the evening, tapering off overnight. A low-pressure system moving through southern Ontario is causing this extended snowfall event. Officials warn that a sharp drop in temperatures combined with strong winds will lead to cold wind chills and worsening travel conditions.

Motorists should be ready for rapidly changing road conditions, especially during the morning and afternoon rush hours. Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their trips and exercise caution on roads and highways. Residents should stay updated by monitoring local forecasts and weather alerts as conditions change.
