KINGTON, ONT. — The Ontario authorities has introduced it should spend $6 million on enhancements to Freeway 401 and 4 ramps within the Kingston space.
Work is underway to resurface sections of the eastbound and westbound lanes from Westbrook Street to Freeway 15, together with the 4 ramps on the Sir John A. Macdonald interchange, a launch said.
Along with the lane renewals, concrete repairs shall be carried out on two bridges between Sydenham Street and Freeway 15.
Bryan Paterson, mayor of Kingston, commented, “By improving Highway 401 and its infrastructure, we are not only enhancing safety and reducing traffic congestion, but also strengthening our city’s connection to vital trade routes. This project will benefit local families, businesses and our economy for years to come.”
Ontario is spending $3.9 billion in 2024-25 as a part of the Ontario Highways Program, which options 635 growth and rehabilitation initiatives.
