A 33-year-old officer with the provincial police has been charged with two counts of impaired driving after an incident in Stone Mills Township, which is located northwest of Kingston.
According to a news release from the OPP, the event took place just before 11 p. m. on Sunday. An OPP officer encountered someone who had just left their vehicle and was showing possible signs of impairment.
The individual, who was also an off-duty OPP officer, was arrested and taken to the L&A County detachment for additional testing.
After the investigation, Benjamin Snider has been charged with two counts of impaired operation of a vehicle.
The investigation revealed that he is currently a provincial constable assigned to the East Region of the OPP and has four years of service under his belt.
He is set to appear in front of the Ontario Court of Justice.
