“On Thursday, May 7, 2026, at approximately 11:40 a. m., [officers] of the Frontenac Detachment…responded to a head-on collision involving two vehicles,” OPP said in a written statement on Thursday evening.

According to OPP, a 57-year-old woman from South Frontenac was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

OPP state that they are continuing to investigate the incident, with help from the OPP’s East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team. Road 38 was closed between Quinn Road and Wilton Road for several hours before reopening just before 6 p. m.

OPP are urging anyone who might have witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam footage from the area around that time to reach out to the Frontenac OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
