Residents of Kingston might notice more military vehicles traveling along Highway 401 as personnel from the Canadian Army Reserve’s 33 Canadian Brigade Group (33 CBG) take part in Ex WOLF AMBUSH.
From March 20 to 22 and March 27 to 29, transport and supply convoys will be making their way to and from Petawawa, passing through several communities, including Kingston.
This is part of a “training ground of the warriors,” a significant brigade-level training exercise featuring simulated combat operations.
The aim is to prepare the Canadian Army for upcoming missions.
<p The public may observe increased military activity with Canadian Army vehicles on various roads in the area, including Ontario highways 7, 17, 26, 41, 55, 115, 401, 416, and 417.
The convoys will carry around 300 soldiers along with their equipment in Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) vehicles and buses.
Participating personnel will make planned brief stops along the routes for rest, refueling, and scheduled maintenance.
Soldiers involved will not have any weapons or ammunition during public stops on their designated travel routes for this routine combat readiness drill.
The public is urged to exercise extra caution when approaching military vehicles.
