One driver has died from her accidents after Tuesday’s wrong-way collision on Freeway 401 close to Kingston, Ont., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stated Wednesday.
Round 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, a westbound automobile struck one other automobile head-on within the freeway’s eastbound lanes close to the Gardiners Highway exit, OPP stated.
Each drivers needed to be extricated from the wreckage and have been initially transported to Kingston Normal Hospital in life-threatening situation.
On Wednesday, OPP stated the 41-year-old Kingston woman driving the automobile that was travelling the flawed manner has died from her accidents.
The opposite driver’s accidents are not thought of life-threatening, OPP stated afterward Tuesday. A baby who was a passenger in one of many automobiles was not severely injured however was transported to hospital.
The eastbound lanes of Freeway 401 have been closed for eight hours following the collision, reopening round 9 p.m. Tuesday, in line with OPP.
OPP proceed to analyze the collision with the help of Workplace of the Chief Coroner. No charges have been laid.
