On the night of Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) issued a launch stating they’ve confirmed the identification of the pedestrian who was killed in a collision on the 401.
“The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Thursday, January 16, 2025, just after 1:30 a.m. and was pronounced deceased. It happened on the 401 between the Highway 15 and Montreal Street exits in Kingston,” the OPP detailed
“A 67-year-old male from Kingston has been confirmed as the deceased.”
Within the launch, Frontenac OPP thanked the general public for his or her help in offering data to determine the deceased male, and mentioned the household of this particular person has been notified.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have launched the above composite sketch and are requesting help from members of the general public in figuring out the person pictured.
The composite sketch is believed to depict the looks of a male struck by two massive automobiles on Freeway 401 between Montreal Road and Freeway 15 in Kingston earlier this month. Kingstonist readers will recall that, within the early morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, Freeway 401 westbound was closed to site visitors following the deadly incident. Since then, investigators have been unable to determine the deceased man, based on the Frontenac County Detachment of the OPP.
“Efforts to identify the victim have had no success,” police mentioned in an up to date media launch on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025.
“The Frontenac OPP Crime Unit is releasing the attached forensic artist sketch… [and] asking for the public’s help to identify [the] individual who was killed earlier this month on Highway 401.”
Police described the deceased male as being roughly 5’7″ (170 cm) tall and weighing about 180 lbs (82 kg). The OPP estimate the person was roughly 70 years outdated and detailed that, on the time of his demise, the person was sporting a black winter jacket, black boots with a facet zipper, and building gloves.
“The pedestrian had been seen in the area of Highway 401 and Montreal Street just prior to the incident,” the OPP mentioned.
