As reported by police, Frontenac OPP officers were on patrol Sunday evening, January 18, 2026, on Road 38 near Van Order Road. At approximately 9:15 p. m., they noticed a vehicle being driven erratically. The officers stopped the car, and when they approached it, “observed open alcohol inside,” according to an OPP press release issued the next day.

The OPP stated that Prest was released from custody and has a court date set for mid-March at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston. The driver’s licence has been automatically suspended for 90 days and could face additional suspension if found guilty. Furthermore, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and Prest will be responsible for any associated fees and fines.
“If you suspect someone is driving impaired, call 9-1-1,” advised the OPP in their release.
