Environment Canada is alerting residents that the Kingston, Ont., area might experience freezing rain on Saturday evening.
The agency has issued a yellow-level warning, indicating that the city could see ice accumulation of two to four millimetres.
The precipitation is expected to start as snow or ice pellets before transitioning into freezing rain and tapering off overnight.
Areas near Lake Ontario are likely to avoid the worst conditions, according to Environment Canada, since temperatures should stay just above freezing.
As of late Saturday afternoon, warnings were active for a stretch across eastern Ontario from Quinte West down to just south of Brockville.
Ottawa is not under any weather alerts; its forecast predicts 10 to 15 centimetres of snow Saturday night, with a chance of freezing rain later on.
