Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston MPP John Jordan is one of 11 that issued a joint statement.

MPP s from Eastern Ontario representing the Progressive Conservative party are urging for more discussions regarding the proposed ALTO rail project, emphasizing that local issues should be resolved before proceeding with any plans.

The Eastern Ontario PC Caucus stated that significant infrastructure projects need to align with the needs of rural communities, farmers, families, and local businesses.

The group pointed out that there are still many unanswered questions about ALTO and asked the federal government to make sure any upcoming rail initiative reduces effects on farmland while also taking into account input from impacted communities.

This statement was made on behalf of 11 MPP s, including Steve Clark, John Jordan, Tyler Allsopp, George Darouze, Billy Denault, Nolan Quinn, David Piccini, Laurie Scott, Stephane Sarrazin, Ric Bresee and Dave Smith.

The MPP s mentioned they will keep collaborating with municipalities, landowners, farmers and residents regarding this matter.
