A teen from Kingston is deceased after being struck by a car on Rosedale Street, in South Frontenac Township, on the night of Saturday, Jan. 4, 2024.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say that Frontenac OPP members, South Frontenac Hearth Rescue, and Frontenac Paramedics responded simply after 5:30 p.m. to a report of a car hanging a pedestrian on Rosedale Street, which is simply north of the village of Sydenham.
“A commercial express van was traveling along the road and struck a pedestrian who was walking in the same direction,” OPP defined in an announcement on the collision. A 15-year-old, who OPP say is from Kingston, was pronounced deceased on the scene by paramedics.

In keeping with OPP, a second pedestrian obtained minor accidents within the collision and was transported to hospital.
The motive force, a 57-year-old male from Harrowsmith, was positioned on the scene and spoke to investigators.
“Alcohol was detected by officers and breath testing was completed at the roadside,” OPP mentioned. “The driver registered in the warning range and received an administrative driver’s licence suspension, for a three-day period. The vehicle was towed from the scene for further examination.”
OPP haven’t disclosed the identification of the driving force.
Rosedale Street was closed for a number of hours because the investigation continued with a Technical Collision Investigator (OPP), Reconstructionist (OPP) and the Chief Coroners Workplace of Ontario.
