Swim, skate, run
This March break, the City of Hamilton is offering additional drop-in swim, gym, and skate programs. You can find specific schedules for local recreation centres online.Visit the library
The Hamilton Public Library will have various programming options for March break, including karaoke, gaming sessions, science activities, nature explorations, movies, and music events. You can check out the event schedule online. Your library card also lets you get a Presto transit card for your child, borrow passes to Ontario Parks and Hamilton conservation areas, or check out passes to the Art Gallery of Hamilton.Discover Hamilton Civic Museums

The Gage Park Tropical Greenhouse is hosting Spring Discover Days featuring guided tours, scavenger hunts, and educational activities.Savor maple syrup treats
This month brings the annual Maple Syrup Festival at Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Burlington, Ont. The festival includes guided tours, farm animals to see up close, tasty treats, and a pancake house experience. If you’re driving there, make sure to get a daily vehicle permit that can be purchased up to five days ahead of time. Hamilton’s Westfield Heritage Village Conservation Area also offers its own maple syrup events like visiting a sugar shack, wagon rides through the area, enjoying a pancake feast along with historical interpreters.Create at the farmer’s market
This week at Hamilton’s Farmer’s Market local artist Annie Webber will lead participants in a cardboard construction challenge from March 18 to 21 between 10 a. m. and 12 p. m.Enjoy movie screenings
Playhouse Cinema will show family-friendly films throughout the week including Paddington 2 and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Tickets are $9 with matinees featuring three Looney Tunes shorts before each film starts.
