This June, Porter Airlines is increasing its service in Hamilton with new flights to Ottawa and Montreal.
Starting June 22, Porter will introduce a nonstop route linking Hamilton and Ottawa. The airline states that the service will operate between John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and Ottawa International Airport with two daily flights on 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.
This week, Porter also announced an expansion of services between John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and Montreal Metropolitan Airport, which will also commence on June 22, featuring flights 14 times per week.
These new routes provide Hamilton travelers direct access to the capital city, along with connections to 11 destinations via Porter’s hub in Ottawa.
“Hamilton travellers can now fly seamlessly to Ottawa and easily connect to destinations across Atlantic Canada and the U. S. East Coast, including Boston and New York,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines.
Flights heading to Ottawa will depart from Hamilton at 10:25 a. m. and 6:35 p. m., arriving in Ottawa at 11:29 a. m. and 7:39 p. m. Return flights leave Ottawa at 8:35 a. m. and 2 p. m., landing in Hamilton at 9:43 a. m. and 3:08 p. m.

The addition of services to Montreal and Ottawa enhances an already growing list of destinations offered from Hamilton.
Earlier this year, Porter revealed plans for five weekly flights connecting Hamilton with St. John’s, four weekly flights starting May 15 between Winnipeg while also doubling flights to Halifax up to fourteen times each week. The airline will also turn its twice-weekly seasonal service into year-round operations going into Fort Lauderdale.
If you check their website, you’ll find that Porter operates flights from Hamilton not just to Calgary but also Edmonton, Halifax, Vancouver, Orlando (Fla.), Fort Lauderdale (Fla.), Cancun (Mexico), Puerto Vallarta (Mexico), and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic).
The airline started serving passengers in Hamilton back in 2025 alongside West Jet at the same airport where Air Canada provides shuttle connections directly into Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.

‘Unprecedented amount of new service’
Porter mentions that flights from the new Montreal airport are now available for booking starting at $135 one way to Montreal and $170 for the return trip. The connection between Hamilton and Montreal is part of Porter’s launch of twelve routes from the newly renovated airport located in Longueuil, previously known as Saint-Hubert Airport. This move is part of a larger national strategy associated with enhancing airport facilities on the city’s South Shore. The facility is now known as Montreal Metropolitan Airport or MET, featuring a brand-new terminal designed with an open layout for easier navigation. MET’s official airport designation code is YHU. Porter claims that their expansion represents their plan for stronger growth throughout Canada. “We are eager to begin this journey with an unprecedented amount of new service,” CEO Michael Deluce said in a statement.Source link
