The Ontario Land Tribunal has accepted a settlement settlement between Hamilton Metropolis Council and Vrancor’s Hamilton Queen and Market Inc. to allow a 975 rental unit redevelopment of the 1.97-acre (0.79 hectares) website on the west facet of Queen Avenue within the Strathcona neighbourhood.
The deal permits the development of a six-storey seniors housing on the west facet of the property and two tall buildings of 30 and 31 storeys on the east facet of the lands.
Lawyer Denise Baker, representing the developer, says the settlement resulted from tribunal-led mediation and is conscious of considerations from the Metropolis and close by neighbours.
Baker says the constructing heights can be equal to the Metropolis’s peak restrict of the geodetic peak of the escarpment, one thing she described as “important to the city.”
The taller constructing can be 88.46 metres tall, with a geodetic peak above sea stage of 192.76 metres.
