Justin Bieber and Tate Mc Rae have both received six nominations for this year’s Juno Awards, surpassing The Weeknd and rising country artist Cameron Whitcomb, who each got five.

Bieber and Mc Rae will compete in all six categories together, while The Weeknd, with a total of 22 career Junos, is close to catching legendary artist Anne Murray (who has 24 wins) for the most awards in history.

From Burlington, Josh Ross has four nominations and is a finalist for Album of the Year and Country Album of the Year with ‘Later Tonight.’ He’s also nominated for Single of the Year with ‘Hate How You Look.’

Oshawa’s Daniel Caesar is up for three awards – including Artist of the Year. He’ll be facing off against Bieber, Mc Rae, The Weeknd, and bbno$. Caesar won a Juno back in 2018 and is also nominated in both traditional and contemporary R& B categories. He was recognized as Songwriter of the Year (alongside Ashton Simmonds) for his work on the Son of Spergy album.

Mustafa is also a contender for Songwriter of the Year due to his contributions to Son of Spergy.

Shawn Mendes from Pickering, an eight-time winner, will compete against Bieber, Mc Rae, Whitcomb, bbno$, The Weeknd (and others like James Barker Band, Ross, Karan Aujla and Shubb) in the Fan Choice category. Meanwhile, Oshawa’s Sacha has been nominated as Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

Sacha’s upcoming LP ‘Where to Start’ features popular country tracks like ‘Mom I Made it’ and ‘Til I Die.’

“This wild. What a start to 2026,” she shared on social media. “Really excited. Very grateful. Very honoured for this opportunity.”

Also representing Durham Region is Oshawa-based prog-rock band Crown Lands with their nomination for Instrumental Album of the Year with Rituals II. Additionally, Bowmanville’s Meghan Patrick is up for Country Album of the Year with Golden Child.
