Firefighters worked hard to control a fire at a grocery store in a plaza in Hamilton early Thursday morning.
The fire, which triggered multiple alarms, started at 140 Centennial Parkway N. in Stoney Creek, according to Hamilton Fire’s post on X at 4:35 a. m.
Images show smoke billowing from Roua plus Food Market, and reports suggest the flames were contained within the food market section of the plaza.
Estimated damages are over $1 million, as reported by CHCH.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
Shortly after 6 a. m., Hamilton Police announced that northbound Centennial Parkway at Violet Drive was reduced to one lane due to the fire.
Authorities advised drivers to plan their routes accordingly and avoid the area if possible.
