NAPANEE, Ont. — Ontario’s police watchdog says it’s investigating after an officer shot a person in Camden East on Friday night.
The Particular Investigations Unit says provincial police had been referred to as to a house locally outdoors of Napanee at about 5 p.m. for reviews of a disturbance.
The company says officers tried to talk with a person, who got here out of the house carrying an “edged weapon.”
They are saying two officers fired anti-riot weapons on the man, and a 3rd officer shot him with a gun.
The person suffered severe accidents and was taken to hospital.
The SIU is an arm’s-length company that is routinely referred to as in to analyze reviews of damage, dying or allegations of sexual assault involving police.
