November 14, 1924-February 7, 2025

Born in Toronto to the late Russell and Reta Salmon. John handed in Guelph Ontario in his a hundred and first 12 months. Beloved husband of the late Helen Salmon, loving father of Steve Salmon (Michelle) and Phil Salmon (Janet). Proud grandfather of Scott Salmon (Aleisha), Katrina Salmon (Toby) and great-grandfather of Casey, Tristan and Nova Salmon. Survived by his sister-in-law Dorothea Salmon and niece Melissa Sensible (David). Predeceased by his brother Robert (Bob).

Dad grew up in despair period Toronto. When he got here of age through the Second World Conflict, he volunteered for lively army service and joined the Royal Canadian Air Pressure. Following his coaching in Canada he was assigned to RCAF 436 Squadron and despatched to serve abroad in Burma (Myanmar). He remained there in lively service till the top of the conflict. Following the top of the conflict he continued his service in England and Germany. On returning residence he started his apprenticeship as an auto mechanic. Quickly after that he met the love of his life, Helen Robertson, who would turn into his spouse and our Mother. They constructed a home collectively following the conflict, bought married. had two sons (us) and began a lifelong partnership. Mother and Dad raised their household and ran their very own automotive enterprise for a few years. The early years the place in “north” North York, then onto Markham, after which as much as the Peterborough space in retirement. Sadly, Mother handed throughout their time in Peterborough and following some solo time there Dad moved to Guelph to be nearer to his children as he bought older. Dad continued to be amazed that he made it to 100 years outdated and up till the previous couple of months remained mentally sharp whereas on the similar time coping with an growing old physique.

To those that have been buddies of Mother and Dad (they got here as a pair) we thanks to your kindness. We additionally thank the caregivers at Chartwell Wellington and the Guelph Basic Hospital for his or her care of Dad in his later years.

A life nicely lived, and understanding Mother and Dad are again collectively offers us peace. As per Dad’s needs, cremation has taken place, and no memorial service is deliberate. A non-public household graveside service will happen later within the 12 months.
