PICKERING, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police say they’re investigating legal allegations introduced ahead by Pickering’s metropolis council.
OPP say allegations had been referred to them by Durham regional police in November, however they haven’t launched any particulars on the matter.
This comes after Pickering Mayor Kevin Ashe stated town’s integrity commissioner had made a criticism to police alleging that Coun. Lisa Robinson could also be aiding and abetting legal harassment together with her participation in “far-right” media.
Durham police stated final week they had been conscious of the problems and the investigation had been turned over to OPP.
Ashe introduced final week that the municipal council within the metropolis east of Toronto was shifting its conferences on-line over alleged threats from Robinson’s supporters.
The police investigation is the most recent growth in an escalating battle between Robinson and metropolis council that started greater than a 12 months in the past.
