TORONTO — Toronto police say a person has been charged after allegedly posing as a surgeon, then injecting 4 ladies with what they believed have been Botox, Salmon DNA and Ozempic therapies.
Police say they arrested a 29-year-old man Saturday on seven counts of assault with a weapon in addition to a standard nuisance cost.
Investigators allege the person approached 4 ladies at a canine park in downtown Toronto, close to Bay Road and Queens Quay, the place he posed as a surgeon at a neighborhood hospital and supplied them beauty procedures out of his residence.
Police say the ladies went to the person’s residence and obtained what they believed have been injections of Salmon DNA, a pores and skin therapy, together with Botox, a wrinkle-reducing shot, and Ozempic, a diabetes remedy used off-label for weight reduction.
The ladies grew to become suspicious of the person’s behaviour and contacted police after studying he was not certified to carry out the procedures.
A police spokesperson says it is nonetheless unclear what substance the alleged injections contained, however not one of the victims needed to be taken to hospital.
Police say they consider there could also be further victims.
