The Wellington County OPP are investigating after responding to 2 fires Thursday night time.    

On Sept. 27, 2024, at round 00:54 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) together with fireplace crews with the Erin Hearth Division responded to a construction fireplace on Brown Road, within the City of Erin.

Two separate fires have been reported in a brand new housing improvement.  A complete of 8 homes have sustained injury ultimately, a few of them being utterly destroyed. Police and fireplace crews are deeming the fires suspicious and are asking the general public to overview video surveillance and sprint cam footage in the event you have been within the space on the time of the fires. 

A car fireplace within the neighborhood was reported a short while later and police are figuring out whether it is associated.

There are not any accidents to report and all the homes leading to damages have been unoccupied.
