It’s with nice unhappiness that we announce the demise of Michael William McCarter, age 74, on January 13, 2025, in Guelph, Ontario.
Michael was born on December 9, 1950, in Toronto, Ontario, to oldsters Marion and Ronald McCarter. He pursued larger training on the College of Toronto (B.A.) and went on to acquire his LL.B. from Osgoode Corridor Legislation College. Admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1977, Michael went on to grow to be a founding accomplice at McCarter Grespan Legal professionals in 1989, the place he practiced enterprise and industrial actual property regulation. He lectured on points in actual property regulation and was a member of the Waterloo-Wellington Property Planning Counsel. Other than the gratification Michael present in his profession, he loved snowboarding, crusing, golf, studying, and listening to music, whether or not jazz and classical recordings, rock music on the radio, or the fiddle and classical music carried out by his sons. Following in his father Ron’s footsteps, he earned his pilot’s license as a young person and maintained a lifelong curiosity in aviation and automotive racing. Michael was predeceased by his spouse, Willow McCarter, in addition to by his dad and mom, Marion and Ronald McCarter. He’s survived by his spouse, Diane Kennedy McCarter, and his kids Luke (Flore), Scott (Jacqueline), and Reid (Trish); stepchildren Ashley (Brian), Andrew (Alexis), Michael (Caroline), and Graham; grandchildren Avery, Ronan, Callum, and Liam Cullen; Kellan, Maureen, and Willow McCarter; Isla and Madeline McCarter; Addie and Ari Barr; and Eli Barr; and siblings Cathryn Ainslie (Tod), Wendy Zwickel, Greig McCarter (Christine), and Marnie Smith (Scott).
Michael’s household extends a heartfelt thanks to the devoted caregivers on the Village of Riverside Glen for his or her compassion and help all through his closing years.
A celebration of Michael’s life can be held at a later date. Memorials or donations could also be made to Parkinson Canada or the Parkinson’s Basis. All through his life, Michael discovered encouragement and energy in two phrases. One, from Eugene F. Ware, reads: “All glory comes from daring to start.” One other, which is suitable to share now for all those that liked him: “By no means, by no means, by no means hand over.”
