Hamilton police say a person is going through a number of prison charges after medication, money and a pet raccoon have been discovered inside a tent in a metropolis park.
The person can be going through bylaw charges for conserving a “prohibited” animal.
Police say officers executed a search warrant on a tent in Montgomery Park on Dec. 20 after receiving complaints about an individual with a firearm who was allegedly dealing medication within the space.
They are saying officers discovered a generator, a tv and a secure full of money and medicines contained in the tent – in addition to a raccoon that was saved as a pet.
Police say a 36-year-old man was arrested close by and charged with possession of prohibited medication for the aim of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon, together with different charges.
Police say town’s animal providers have been contacted to take the raccoon.
