GUELPH – Guelph police report that an 18-year-old man faces a stunt driving charge after allegedly towing people on sleds following Thursday’s snowstorm.

Authorities say they received a call about the incident in a parking lot near York Road and Watson Parkway shortly after midnight on Friday.

It’s claimed that the car was spinning around while two individuals on sleds were being pulled with ropes, and a male was riding in the car’s open trunk.

The driver, hailing from Oakville, Ont., has been charged with stunt driving and his licence has been suspended for 30 days.

Additionally, the vehicle involved, which belongs to one of the sledders, was impounded for two weeks.

This incident occurred after southern Ontario experienced heavy snowfall.

This report by The Canadian Press was first Jan. 16, 2026.
