Former federal justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould says she will be starting treatment for breast cancer.
In a post on social media, Wilson-Raybould shared that the treatment follows recent surgery.
“While this is scary and unsettling, I take strength from the many of you who have shared your stories of resilience & healing with me over the years,” Wilson-Raybould said.
She expressed gratitude to her surgeons and the B. C. Cancer Agency for their support.
In her post, Wilson-Raybould urged people to schedule regular mammograms and get tested for other cancers and health conditions.
Wilson-Raybould spent three years in then-prime minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal cabinet before resigning and being re-elected as an Independent in her Vancouver riding in 2019.
