Canadian veterans, members of the family, senior politicians and officers will collect in Ottawa on Monday morning to mark Remembrance Day throughout a yr that features a number of vital anniversaries.

It has been 80 years since D-Day, which marked the start of the top of the Second World Warfare. It has additionally been 10 years for the reason that finish of the mission in Afghanistan, 60 years of peacekeeping operations in Cyprus, and the a hundredth anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Power.

The ceremony, organized by the Royal Canadian Legion, begins at 10:30 a.m. ET on the Nationwide Warfare Memorial. There will probably be two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. ET to honour individuals who misplaced their lives serving within the armed forces.
