Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberals have been exchanging tit for tat with China since that they had Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou detained in Vancouver in 2018 for extradition to the US on alleged monetary crimes.
China retaliated by detaining the “Two Michaels,” Canadians Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig.
“The Authorities of Canada won’t tolerate any threats, acts of violence or harassment of individuals in Canada or their household and pals due to their political beliefs or to silence dissenting viewpoints,” the Canadian authorities stated.
International Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly earlier in December stated in an announcement that Canada is deeply involved by the human rights violations in Xinjiang and Tibet and towards those that follow Falun Gong, “per the Canadian Press.
