Canada Day Events in Hamilton, Burlington, and Niagara Falls

Residents of Hamilton and nearby areas will come together with Canadians across the nation for Canada Day festivities this year.

CBC News will offer live coverage throughout the day nationwide starting at 6 a. m. ET. More details on how you can tune in are below.

Here are some activities taking place around Hamilton.

Free Canada Day Celebration

The City of Hamilton is hosting a free Canada Day celebration, an “unforgettable day of fun, food, and festivity in the heart of Hamilton” for families at Bayfront Park. The city promises a day full of engaging children’s activities that will spark creativity and keep kids entertained.

Fireworks in the City

As night falls, the City of Hamilton invites you to “stick around for the grand finale.” At 10 p. m., a “spectacular custom fireworks display” will illuminate the sky.

It’s Your Festival

It’s Your Festival will wrap up its celebrations at Gage Park on Canada Day. With an exciting lineup of music, entertainment, art, and food, It’s Your Festival claims to have something for everyone. The festival runs from 12 p. m. to 11 p. m on Canada Day.

Music in Dundas Park

Dundas Community Services invites everyone to join them at Dundas Driving Park for a summer concert on Canada Day featuring performances by the Dundas Concert Band as well as DCB Brass Quintet. The concert takes place from 7:30 p. m. to 9 p. m.

Canada Day Military Tattoo

Dundurn National Historic Site at 610 York Boulevard will host an evening filled with fun and music from 5 p. m. to 6:30 p. m. This family-friendly event features performances by the Regimental Band of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry, the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders of Canada Pipes & Drums, and the Argyllshire Dancers. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs.

What does Canada Day and the national flag represent in 2025?

Canadians aren’t always known for wearing their pride on their sleeves, but the recent trade war with the United States could be changing attitudes. Daisy Raphael from Huron University and Bradley Miller spoke to The Early Edition about what it means to be Canadian and how it’s evolved over time.

Outdoor Pools and Wading Pools

With temperatures reaching up to 27 C expected, going for a swim might be a great idea. Outdoor pools have opened for the season with daily drop-in swims available until Sept. 1, weather permitting. Locations include:

Ancaster Lions Outdoor Pool.
Birge Outdoor Pool.
Chedoke Outdoor Pool.
Coronation Outdoor Pool.
Green Acres Outdoor Pool.
Inch Park Outdoor Pool.
Parkdale Outdoor Pool.
Rosedale Outdoor Pool.
Victoria Park Outdoor Pool.
Walker Outdoor Pool.

Wading Pools

Families with young children can stay cool at supervised wading pools located here:

Dundas Driving Park *open June 23 to Sept. 1.

Celebrate Canada Day in Burlington

The day’s events will take place at Spencer Smith Park featuring:

  • 8:30 a. m.: Start your day with the VRPRO Canada Day 5K Run (pre-registration required).
  • 12 p. m.: Free Yoga in the Park at Compass near West Lawn.
  • 12 p. m.-10 p. m.: Food & Marketplace vendors open.
  • 12 p. m.-4 p. m.: Kids Zone featuring sing-alongs with The Whoopsie Daisies and Noise Pollution Rock Band along with juggling acts by Juggler Ben plus an appearance by Burlington Teen Tour Band – Drum Line at 2:20 p. m.
  • 4:00 p. m.: Opening Ceremonies led by Burlington Teen Tour Band.
  • 6:30 p. m.: Lucky Honey performance.
  • 8:00 p. m.: My Son The Hurricane show.
  • 9:40 p. m.: Drone Show scheduled.
  • 10:00 p. m.: Fireworks Finale!

Celebraing Canada Day in Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls’ celebration includes fireworks shows along with illuminated displays running late into night hours! Special fireworks planned start at 10 pm while also illuminating falls red & white every hour on hour as part of Canada’s holiday celebration!
